1. Scope
This policy explains how Lemon AI LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States, handles information when you use studyjunkie.co and app.studyjunkie.co (the “Service”). Lemon AI LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Where GDPR or an applicable US state privacy law applies, Lemon AI LLC is responsible for the requests described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: your email address, password hash, account settings, and session information.
- Learning data: documents you upload, extracted text, courses, generated chapters and narration, assignment work, and tutor conversations.
- Billing data: purchased credit packs, credit activity, Stripe customer and checkout identifiers, payment status, and receipt links. Study Junkie does not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical and analytics data: device and browser data, IP and request logs needed to operate and secure the Service, and product events collected through PostHog.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide the Service, generate learning material from your uploads, authenticate you, process and reconcile purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, improve the product, and meet legal obligations.
4. Processors and disclosures
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only to providers that help operate the Service, when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer.
- Stripe: processes payments, checkout, receipts, and payment-method management.
- MiniMax: processes the text and speech requests needed to generate courses, learning content, conversations, and narration.
- OpenAI: processes document text for embeddings used to retrieve relevant passages from your uploaded material.
- PostHog: processes product-analytics events.
- Infrastructure providers: host application data, files, logs, and backups needed to run the Service.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable terms and data-processing arrangements.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain account and learning data while your account is active. You can request an export or deletion of your account from the account area or by emailing privacy@studyjunkie.co. On deletion, we remove account data and associated learning content from active systems and schedule deletion from storage and vector-retrieval systems. We may retain payment, fraud-prevention, and transaction records where required by law or needed to resolve a dispute. Backups age out under our backup-retention process.
6. Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information. You can manage non-essential product communications through unsubscribe controls. To make a privacy request, email privacy@studyjunkie.co.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember core preferences. PostHog helps us understand product use and diagnose problems. Browser controls may limit cookies, but doing so can prevent parts of the Service from working.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest. No system can guarantee absolute security; notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us and we will investigate and delete it where appropriate.
